Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reportedly reached a settlement in their long-standing divorce proceedings; however, the future of the Château Miraval vineyard remains uncertain. Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, confirmed that they signed off on the divorce settlement by the end of December 2024, after an intense legal battle lasting eight years, but did not disclose specific details.
The couple, who acquired the vineyard in Provence in 2011 after renting it since 2008, also faced disputes regarding its ownership. Their first rosé, made in collaboration with the Perrin family from Château de Beaucastel, debuted in 2013 and quickly sold out, marking a successful start for Miraval wines.
While the vineyard hosts memories of their wedding ceremony, it has become a contentious topic in their divorce since its announcement in 2016. In 2021, Jolie sold her 50% stake in Miraval to wine group Tenute del Mondo, a move that prompted a lawsuit from Pitt, leading to ongoing uncertainty about ownership.
Despite these challenges, the vineyard has maintained its reputation, continuing to produce popular wines. The 2023 Miraval Rosé received an 89-point rating from Elizabeth Gabay MW, citing its youthfully restrained aromas and balance. Additionally, Pitt has revived a recording studio on the estate, furthering its legacy in both wine and music.
