I’ve previously discussed the English sparkling (and sometimes still) wine from Langham, which stands as one of the top producers in the UK. Their latest offering continues to impress.
Langham Pinot Noir 2019 Dorset, England
Featuring 12% alcohol, the base wine is both fermented and aged in oak. It was bottled in July 2020 and disgorged in January 2023, with no dosage added. Exhibiting a full color, it offers an enticing aroma of cherries, toast, lemons, and almonds. The taste is lively and lemony, accompanied by flavors of apple and cherry, and a delightful savoury bready note. The wine is exuberant and acidic, underscoring its sophistication. Score: 93/100
