Judge Profile: Daniele Arcangeli – A Closer Look at DWWA’s Esteemed Jurist

Daniele Arcangeli is a prominent judge at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA). With over 20 years of experience in the fine dining sector across Europe and the UK, Arcangeli has made his mark as an award-winning Italian sommelier and wine buyer.

Currently, he serves as the head sommelier and wine buyer at Ekstedt at The Yard in London, where he oversees the wine program and develops pairing strategies. His flexible career has included significant roles at renowned establishments such as The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay, Angler (1 Michelin Star), 67 Pall Mall, and The Fat Duck (3 Michelin Stars), showcasing his technical prowess and refined service.

A notable accolade in his career was being named the Best Sommelier of Italy in 2015 and previously Best Sommelier of Tuscany in 2012. Arcangeli has also represented Italy at the ASI Best Sommelier of the World competition and maintains a robust academic foundation with qualifications including the ASI Diploma Gold and certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and AIS. He is presently pursuing the WSET Diploma and works as a judge in various international wine competitions.
