Malhadinha Nova are a renowned estate in Alentejo, positioned at the southern tip near the Algarve. They have expanded their vineyard operations into the Sao Mamede national park, within the Portalegre subregion of Alentejo. Positioned at higher elevations, this area offers a distinct terroir. Their new wine series, Teixinha, showcases notably impressive qualities.

Features 13.5% alcohol. Cultivated in Sao Mamede at an elevation of 700 meters, it is a blend including Roupeiro, Tamarez, Com Borras, Bical, and Arinto. Matured for 9 months on fine lees, the wine exhibits a stony, linear profile with vibrant lemony fruit, accented by pear and marmalade notes and an oily richness. It has a clean, linear acidity that underpins its purity and precision. This multidimensional dry white wine broadens in the palate, concluding with a long finish. Malhadinha Nova Teixinha Field Blend Tinto 2021 Alentejo, Portugal
Contains 15% alcohol. From São Mamede at 700 meters, this blend features Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, and Aragonez, aged for 14 months in French oak. It starts with a rich, intense aroma with hints of spicy oak and sweet raspberry. The palate is vivid and intense with a central sweet fruity core balanced by fresh acidity, alongside the spicy oak which currently stands out. It promises great aging potential with its focused, fresh intensity and delightful fruit. 93/100 (€35 in Portugal)

Malhadinha Nova Teixinha Field Blend Tava Tinto 2021 Alentejo, Portugal
Has 14.5% alcohol. Also originating from São Mamede at 700 meters, this blend includes Alicante Bouschet, Trincade and Aragonez, matured for 14 months in terracotta amphora (Talha). It displays a deep, brooding nose with smoky berry fruits and a savory fruit edge. The palate is ripe and richly fruited but also maintains a grainy, grippy savouriness resembling wet stones. The intensity is marked by brooding black cherry and blackberry flavors, enriched with a slightly salty finish. It is both complex and captivating. 94/100 (€55 in Portugal)

Malhadinha Nova Teixinha Roupeiro 2021 Alentejo, Portugal
12.5% alcohol. Located in São Mamede at 700 meters altitude, this wine presents chalky mineral aromas accompanied by sweet citrus on the nose. The taste reveals a superb texture, showcasing fresh, direct citrus and pear flavors, ending with a delicate chalky note. Exceptionally refined. 94/100
