Introducing Revela: A Thrilling New Wine Producer in Portugal’s Dão Region

Mariana Salvador is a vintner associated with Textura and the Barbetio still wines. She embarked on her personal enterprise in the Dão region known as Revela, with 2021 making its premier vintage. The vineyards are located in Nelas.

Revela Tinto 2021 Dão, Portugal
This wine is from Nelas and originates from a single plot of vines that are 96 years old. It’s a blended field with a majority (55%) of Jaen, and it comprises 10 different varieties. 20% of stems are involved in its co-fermentation. The texture is supple, refined and refreshing, with a focus on berry and cherry flavors that blend seamlessly with the stony and vivid tones. This wine is impressively concentrated and well-balanced, revealing a level of precision that scores it a 95/100.

Revela Encruzado 2021 Dão, Portugal
This wine is fresh, refined and slightly chalky. It is highly mineral and expressive, providing a bright and focused taste. It also offers a good weight and balance which make it a truly impressing wine with a rating of 94/100.

Revela Branco 2022 Dão, Portugal
This is the finest white. Encruzado, Malvasia and Bical are its components. The wine is delicate, vibrant, mineral-rich reflecting a lovely precision and purity with a slight twist of saline. It is very expressive with a pleasant acid line which gives it a rating of 95/100.
