An Almost Perfect Culinary Experience at Noble Rot, Mayfair: A Journey Through Sarris, Keller, and Sadie Wines

By | 14 September 2026

I’ve visited Noble Rot’s locations in Mayfair and Lambs Conduit Street numerous times, always enjoying a good experience. Recently, however, a Saturday lunch truly stood out. We decided on the excellently priced set lunch menu, known for its value (a vegetarian variant is available upon request). It’s one of London’s best restaurant bargains, though the impressive wine list inevitably tempts guests into ordering a bottle or two.

This visit, we opted for the à la carte menu to try a whole fish priced at £60, which sounded too good to pass up. When it arrived, it was beautifully cooked and completely de-boned, adding to the dining experience.

The wines served with the meal were exceptional. We received complimentary glasses of Keller and Sadie wines, and then chose to buy a bottle of Sarris, which was an excellent decision.

Keller Abts E Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2024 Rheinhessen, Germany
This wine hails from Abtserde, a prestigious vineyard site in Westhofener Brunnenhäuschen. It’s pricey but worth every penny, offering a mineral profile with intense, textured crystalline citrus fruit flavors. The wine displays remarkable precision and complexity, earning a score of 96/100.

Sadie Family Sonvang 2024 Swartland, South Africa
This field blend includes various grapes such as Alicante Bouchet and Grenache Noir, among others. It showcases purity and freshness, with silky red cherry and raspberry notes. There’s a fine balance of tannins with great aging potential, also rated at 96/100.

Sarris Panochori 2024 Kefalonia, Greece
Crafted from 65-year-old ungrafted Robola vines, this wine is textured yet vibrant with citrus-driven freshness and a distinct minerality. Its purity and saline quality make it remarkable, with a score of 95/100.
