Roger Taylor, the drummer of Queen, has launched a new rosé wine called Queen Côtes de Provence Rosé Cuvée Rock n’ Roll 2025, set to hit stores in the UK on May 5th. The wine, a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Cinsault, reflects Taylor’s vision of creating something that embodies joy and togetherness.

In his words, “We’ve always believed in doing things properly, and that was the starting point here,” emphasizing the importance of integrity in the winemaking process. Taylor collaborated with a team including investment from Sony Music, Watermill Wines, and the Provence winery Les Caves du Commandeur, which has been producing wine since 1913 with a focus on organic practices.

The head winemaker, Valérie Courrèges, described the wine as aiming for elegance, structure, and freshness, which can be challenging given the sunny climate of Provence. She worked directly with the growers to maintain the wine’s natural acidity and freshness.

During the London launch event, Taylor, humorously acknowledging his love for wine, claimed, “I wouldn’t claim to be an expert about wine, but I would claim to be a lifelong lover of it.” The collaborative nature of this venture was highlighted through Taylor’s direct involvement in creating the wine’s blend and overall style.

The final product, Cuvée Rock n’ Roll 2025, is a pale pink rosé with red berry and citrus aromas and a juicy mouthfeel characterized by creamy strawberry fruit that finishes crisp and fresh. The elegant bottle design features the Queen logo in pale blue, and Taylor mentioned that the bottle could even be reused as a water bottle afterward.

Retailing for £18, the rosé aims to resonate with fans of the band and wine lovers alike. Despite its launch, Taylor stated that there are currently no plans to expand the Queen wine range.
