King Charles III and Queen Camilla marked their 20th wedding anniversary with a state banquet in Rome, hosted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The special occasion was celebrated with Ferrari Trento’s renowned sparkling wines.

As part of the festivities, the Lunelli family, which oversees Ferrari Trento, selected the Ferrari Riserva Lunelli 2016 for the royal toast. This sparkling wine is recognized for its quality and undergoes fermentation in large Austrian oak casks, pricing around £60 per bottle.

Additionally, Ferrari Trento presented King Charles III with a unique anniversary gift, a bottle of Giulio Ferrari Collezione 2004, specifically numbered 2023 to commemorate the year of his coronation. Matteo Lunelli, CEO of Ferrari Trento, expressed deep honor that their wines were chosen for this significant occasion, highlighting their commitment to excellence and environmental sustainability.

Established in 1902, Ferrari Trento has been under the Lunelli family’s stewardship since 1952. The prestigious winery is known for producing sparkling wines using the Champagne method, utilizing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown in Italy’s Trentino province.

During their four-day state visit, the royal couple also engaged in a private meeting with Pope Francis before the banquet. King Charles III and Queen Camilla hold the distinction of being the first royals to marry in a civil ceremony, tying the knot at Windsor Guildhall on April 9, 2004.
