On a recent trip to Sweden, I had a chance to explore Malmö before catching a train to Copenhagen for my flight home. I decided to visit L’Enoteca, a wine bar conveniently located near the station.
This wine bar features a cozy atmosphere and an impressive selection of intriguing wines, many of which are available by the glass upon request. The staff is friendly and willing to open bottles, allowing patrons to enjoy generous pours at reasonable prices.
While L’Enoteca leans towards low intervention and natural wines, it ultimately serves as a haven for anyone interested in exploring unique wines rather than strictly focusing on natural options. During my visit, I sampled two exceptional wines:
-
Domaine Courbet Trousseau de la Vallée 2021, Côtes de Jura, France (12% alcohol). This organic wine is juicy and supple, showcasing herbal notes along with white pepper, plum, and cherry flavors. It achieves a fine balance between elegance and a slight tannic bite, making it expressive and enjoyable. Rating: 93/100.
-
Vignoble du Chânt d’Oiseaux Orléans 2019, Loire, France. Crafted by Edouard Montigny from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this wine comes from the lesser-known OAC of Orléans. It features a supple profile with a sweet core of cherry and raspberry fruit while retaining some green hints and intensity. The finish has a satisfying grip and a nice spicy kick. Rating: 93/100.
If you’re in Malmö, L’Enoteca is definitely worth a visit for an engaging wine experience.
