I’m a big fan of English fizz house Roebuck, whose wines I’ve reviewed here before a few times (here, here and here). This is another good one, just released.
Roebuck Rosé de Noirs 2018 Sussex, England
12% alcohol
£42 Roebuck
This wine includes a blend of 78% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier sourced from Roebuck’s vineyards: Roebuck, Roman Villa, and Little Brockhurst in West Sussex. Additionally, 5% Pinot Precoce is added as a red wine to enhance the color. With a dosage of 6 g/litre, its pale pink color denotes a refined sophistication. The palate encounters delightful notes of citrus like lemon and mandarin, complemented by cherry flavors. It also presents a hint of apple and a slight saltiness, balanced perfectly with a subtle tartness which doesn’t create sharp angles but rather contributes to a harmonious blend. A hint of toastiness and a raspberry tang finish off this exquisite wine, scoring it at 94/100.
