2021 Vintage Report of Sonoma Coast and a Sneak Peek into 2022

By | 22 April 2024

The 2021 vintage brought a sigh of relief to winemakers on the ‘authentic’ Sonoma Coast. This year saw an impressive recovery from the tragic and deadly 2020, besought by wildfires and a sweeping pandemic.

Exceptional concentration, bountiful yields, and near-perfect clusters collectively contributed to the joyful conclusion of 2021.

The phenomenon of a third straight year of drought resulting in such productive yields was somewhat puzzling. Nevertheless, winemakers happily embraced it. Ted Lemon of Littorai referred to it as a ‘conundrum,’ one that, eventually, resulted in the creation of stunning, exquisite wines from the Sonoma Coast.

The wines listed below scored 95 points or above and are arranged in the sequence of white and then red, based on scoring.
