Theresa Eccher is the name of Daniela Conta Eccher’s grandmother. With her husband Andrea Panozzo, Daniela began this winery in 2013 on the northern side of Etna in Solicchiata, at 800 m. They started by purchasing a prephylloxera vineyard and have since expanded. Ginevra, Daniela and Andrea’s daughter, has now also joined the business. The wines are matured in used French oak.
Theresa Eccher Contessa del Vento Etna Bianco Superiore 2022
Carricante fermented and aged in stainless steel. It has notes of spice, mint, honey, and a hint of woodsmoke. The palate carries a powerful and minty taste with well-balanced acidity. The aftertaste is stony and mineral. 92/100
Theresa Eccher Ariel Etna Rosato 2022
Made fully from Nerello Mascalese, in stainless steel. The wine has a full orange/pink color. It presents an excellent body with supple, fresh cherry fruit and a dry palate. Notes of wild strawberry and wet stone make their presence too. A classy wine. 92/100

80% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappuccio. 13 months in barriques. Supple, rounded with sweet red cherries and plums as well as some spicy savouriness. Quite mineral and stony with a savoury twist and some almond hints, as well as a juicy quality. 91/100
Theresa Eccher Altero Contrade Pontale Palino 2015
Own-rooted vines in a 120 year-old vineyard, matured for 14 months in large oak. Stylish and supple with hints of wild herbs and some minerals. Shows almond-laced cherry fruit with some grip and minerality. 93/100
