Popped into Singburi in Shoreditch for a late lunch and left full, happy, and eager to return. London has earned a strong reputation for its Thai cuisine, with notable spots like Anglothai and Smoking Goat being greatly praised. Singburi lives up to this reputation based on today’s experience.
The restaurant has a bright, modern dining area and features a long kitchen counter/bar—a great spot to sit and watch the chefs at work. Cooking is done over coal, adding a unique flair to the dining experience.
The menu is concise and changes daily, offering a limited number of choices that cater to a group of four or five. Each dish was exquisite, making the selection experience delightful.
When it comes to drinks, the list is impressive. While it may be short, it’s thoughtfully curated and affordably priced. The wines we sampled by the glass were sourced from prominent suppliers like Roland Wines and Les Caves de Pyrene, emphasizing organic and low-intervention options. A reasonable corkage fee of £33 exists for those wishing to bring their own bottles.
