The Decanter Fine Wine Encounter (DFWE) returned to London on November 7-8, 2025, marking its first two-day edition since 2019. This milestone celebrated 28 years of connecting wine enthusiasts with top producers. The event featured a dynamic schedule of masterclasses, walk-around tastings, and the introduction of Winemakers’ Lunches.
For the first time, the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) winners had a dedicated showcase, and the popular Cellar Collection sold out again, highlighting its status as a coveted experience within the festival.
Photographers Ellen Richardson and Denise Maxwell captured memorable moments throughout the event, enhancing the celebration of fine wines. Attendees enjoyed a spirited atmosphere, complete with meticulously polished Riedel glasses, a selection of award-winning wines from the DWWA, and exclusive tastings that highlighted the best of the wine world.
Guests relished in premium pairings, including exquisite Ibérico ham from Spain and various gourmet treats, while masterclasses featuring industry experts offered insights into some of the world’s finest wines. Notable interactions included tastings led by figures such as Fabien Teitgen, Head Winemaker of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, and engaging discussions around wines from prestigious vintages.
As the event unfolded, the excitement built around the exclusive Cellar Collection, while esteemed producers shared their stories and experiences, ensuring a rich tapestry of learning and enjoyment for all attendees.
With smiles on faces and glasses raised, the DFWE left a lasting impression, inviting all to return next year for another unforgettable experience.
