A First Look at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2022: Exploring an Abundant Vintage in Bottle

By | 10 February 2025

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has introduced its 2022 vintage wines, showcasing an impressive collection at a recent tasting event in London, attended by UK trade and press. The co-directors, Perrine Fenal and Bertrand de Villaine, were present to unveil wines that exemplify ripeness and balance, each distinctly reflecting its terroir.

Following the disappointingly low yields from the frost-affected 2021 vintage, the 2022 harvest was abundant, producing plump, healthy grapes. Adam Brett-Smith, managing director of Corney & Barrow, remarked, “It’s almost as if the 2022 vintage was listening to us," highlighting the gratifying contrast to the previous year’s output.

Detailed tasting notes and scores for the 2022 wines from Burgundy correspondent Charles Curtis MW are set to be published in March, further detailing the potential of this promising vintage.
