Not long after, February brought visits to the Niepoort cellars in Jerez, showcasing new wine developments, and a notable engagement at the Simplemente Vinho in Porto.
February continued to be busy as the New Zealand Pinot Symposium took place in Christchurch, along with explorations in Central Otago and North Canterbury. A significant trip also included a visit to Los Angeles to meet with Abe Schoener.
As spring approached in March, activities ramped up with judging the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards in Macau and tours of Slovenia’s finest wineries. The month also featured tirades into filming projects in the UK and Germany, including the Rheingau region.
April progressed with visits to the Rhône Valley, exploring both Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage regions. This month also marked a new chapter for the International Wine Challenge under new ownership.
As summer rolled in, May offered a glimpse into the Sublime Wine Festival in Berlin and an inspiring trip to Lisbon for Vinho de Casa, during which Wines of Portugal recognized an individual as the personality of the year in Viseu. June continued the celebration with the Glou Glou festival in Coimbra, Portugal while also capturing moments in Margate, London, and Okanagan, Canada.
July brought further adventures—celebrations of Chenin in the Loire, podcasts with close collaborators, and international excursions like visiting Henschke in Barossa and even teaching in Amsterdam. The excitement continued into August along the Norfolk coast before transitioning to Greece in September during the Aya Estate winery opening.
November was bustling with activities, marking events in Chile, the Amfora Wine Day in Alentejo, and the VinNatur wine festival in Paris. The end of the year saw a return to the beautiful Mosel with a Living Vineyards tour alongside Kelly Mulville, and a deep dive into regenerative farming practices in Champagne with Perrier-Jouët.
