Discover Saravá: Innovative Low-Intervention Wines from Portugal’s Vinho Verde and Douro Regions

By | 3 December 2025

Miguel Viseu, the winemaker at low-intervention wine producer Aphros in Vinho Verde, has ventured further into the world of winemaking with his own project, Saravá, alongside his partner, Leli. Initiated in 2018 with a few homemade wines, the project has rapidly expanded since moving to a proper cellar in 2019. Initially focused on Vinho Verde, Saravá now also offers wines from the Douro region.

Miguel, hailing from the Douro, and Leli, who grew up in southern Brazil with a background in NGO work, incorporate their international experiences into their winemaking. The couple has adopted a natural approach, only adding a minimal amount of sulfites before bottling their wines under the name Saravá and their company Galactic Wine.
