Record-Breaking Sale: Luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Estate Fetches Nearly $13.5 Million

By | 10 October 2025

A stunning Napa Valley estate, featuring nearly 2.7 hectares (6.6 acres) of Cabernet Sauvignon vines and a spacious wine cellar, has recently been sold for approximately $13.5 million. This property, located close to downtown Calistoga and nestled among the rolling hills with stunning views of Mt. St. Helena, was initially listed at $13.475 million.

The estate spans 18.6 hectares (46 acres) and includes vineyards that slope gently to a natural, spring-fed lake. Additional amenities include heritage oak trees, an outdoor swimming pool, and several buildings, which consist of a main residence, a poolside cottage, and a bell tower.

A noteworthy feature of the property is the wine cellar, located beneath the main house, which can accommodate at least 5,000 bottles and includes a “tasting nook.” According to the listing by Sotheby’s International Realty agents Arthur Goodrich and Federico Parlagreco, this sale marks the most expensive residential property transaction in this region of California wine country since 2023. The estate was previously valued at $18.5 million a few years back and was listed at $14.95 million earlier this year.

Reports suggest that the buyer is linked to a company managed by philanthropist Lyna Lam, who is married to crypto billionaire Chris Larsen. Goodrich, the listing agent, mentioned his policy of not disclosing the identities of buyers or sellers.

He also highlighted that while the wine sector might currently be in a downturn, the luxury vineyard market in Napa Valley presents an optimal opportunity for buyers. The new owners’ level of involvement with the vineyard operation remains unclear, but the listing did indicate that the estate is eligible for a micro-winery permit.

The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are divided into four distinct areas, producing over 1,200 cases of wine each year. The winemaking is overseen by renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, and the property boasts a library collection of wines dating back to its first vintage in 2002.
