He aims to create wines reflective of their Alpine origins rather than imitate Champagne. Brun’s approach includes employing techniques such as using large oak foudres for subtle complexity without overwhelming the wine with oak flavors.
The 2007 Giulio Ferrari Collezione is sourced from the Maso Pianizza vineyard, situated on the Alps’ slopes. The vineyard’s unique climate, characterized by significant diurnal temperature variations, is ideal for high-quality sparkling wine. The vines are on average 20 years old and have been replanted to maximize their potential.
Disgorged with an Extra Brut dosage in February 2025, the wine has already undergone more than a year of aging post-disgorgement. Tasting events have revealed the wine’s development, showcasing ripe citrus, buttery notes, and a rich, creamy finish.
