Gant & Co: Discover the Stylish Wines of Margaret River, Western Australia

By | 15 March 2026

Matt Gant, an accomplished Australian winemaker previously behind the brand First Drop, has launched a new wine venture in Margaret River, Western Australia, called Gant & Co. Following the sale of his half of First Drop in 2021, Gant has pivoted to focus on this new project.

The vineyard, located in Karridale, was established by Claudia, Matt’s wife, whose father, Graham Lloyd, planted the site in 1998. The vineyard spans 25 hectares, primarily consisting of six clones of Chardonnay along with smaller amounts of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Arneis, Albarino, and select reds including Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.

Gant and his family have lived in Margaret River while he balanced his time between the vineyard and his previous commitments in the Barossa valley. Now fully focused on Gant & Co, he aims to produce wines that reflect the purity and vitality of their location. He has emphasized a holistic farming approach, using minimal chemicals to maintain soil health and promote a vibrant, bright expression in the wines.
