Mas de Daumas Gassac is renowned for its red wines, but it also produces intriguing white varieties, with their Blanc de Raisins Blanc being a standout. Two vintages from this label, separated by eight years, showcase the evolution and quality of this wine.

Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc de Raisins Blanc 2024 displays a blend of 35% Viognier, 29% Chardonnay, 13% Petit Manseng, 10% Chenin, 6% Muscat, and additional varietals. This wine, with an alcohol content of 13.5%, features aromatic stone fruits complemented by hints of mint and dried herbs. On the palate, flavors of aniseed, pear, and white peach come together, presenting an expressive character and pleasing texture, earning a score of 94/100.

In comparison, the Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc de Raisins Blanc 2016 is bolder and richer, with an alcohol level of 14%. It comprises 27% Viognier, 25% Petit Manseng, 21% Chardonnay, 13% Chenin, along with other grapes. This vintage is noted for its powerful and richly textured profile, showcasing peach, pear, and apricot, alongside nuanced toast and spice notes. A unique mineral aspect, reminiscent of sweet textural minerality, leads to a finish marked by mandarin and sea salt. This wine also received a score of 94/100.

Both vintages illustrate the winery’s commitment to quality and their ability to produce exceptional white wines that age gracefully.
